I want to host a contest to see who can come up with the best voice over for this video.
What's up with the gangster hands?

What's amazing is that this video is only a couple weeks old but he's already in so much more control of his limbs.  I think it some how relates to his new distaste for the swaddle, he prefers to be free of the baby straitjacket now.  I don't know if I'm ready.

Laughing and Singing

Louis is laughing!

Marlo has been performing a series of afternoon concerts for me. As soon as she gets home from school she gets her guitar and sings.

Her favorite lyrics seem to be "and then... and then..." but I like the bit about the sunny day.  Sean's favorite part is the turning of the guitar to use it as a percussion instrument.  I didn't get the very first concert in this series on video and it's too bad because I think it was the best. She sat down and said "This is a song about an owl." She played a song and before the next tunes said "This is a song about another owl" and before the third song she announced "This is a song about more owls"... We had been to the Nature Center earlier that day.

Quote of the day

Marlo has just figured out the proper use of 'you' and 'me'. Instead of saying 'Mommy help you' she says 'Mommy help me.' This morning when I left for work...
Mommy- I love you Marlo.
Marlo- I love me Mommy.
-------
Taking her pjs off to get dressed..
'I get sooo naked'
-------
Marlo has also retired 'Lou-less' for 'Louis' and I think 'MarNo' is on its way out. I'm happy to see the progress but I'll kind of miss the baby talk.

Quote of the Day

Louise was playing with one of Marlo's old baby toys.

Marlo- It's mine.
Mommy- Marlo, it is a baby toy can't you let baby Louis play with it?
Marlo- No. It's mine. I bought it.

As I was typing this post into my phone.
Marlo- Mommy what you doing? You checking on Daddy on your phone.

(Is there an ap for that?)

Quote of the day

Here are a few from the last week...

Marlo- Buggy Shoes. Buggy Shoes.
Mommy- Do you mean 'shoe fly'?
Marlo- Yes.
-----------

Mommy- Marlo, What do you want for dinner?
Marlo- Rock n Roni and Cheese.
-----------

Marlo(pointing to a mole on my right cheek)- Mommy, you got a nipple on your face?
She also get's nipple mixed up with Temple, the town where Mimi lives.  She once pulled up her shirt and told me to look at her Temples.
-----------

There's an entire category of "quotes of the day" that I don't post but that are precious. They are things that she says that seem beyond her years.  If I type them out they seem very normal and boring, but then you have to imagine these words coming from a toe headed little two year old.  Here are some examples:

Daddy (on Monday morning after a busy weekend)- Marlo what was your favorite part of the weekend?Marlo- The party was nice. (we went to her friend Maggies bday party).
------------

Mommy- Let's load up in the stroller Marlo.
Marlo- Mommy, you need to exersize.
------------

As I was leaving for work and asking for a hug....
Marlo- Let's have a group hug.

Where's Marlo?

Here's a picture of how much stuff Marlo sleeps with. Can you find her? Tonight's selection includes 2 bears, a puppy, Elmo, soft blocks, 3 babies, her regular pillow, a tiny pillow, 2 doll hats, a pig, Okapi, books (some in the bed, some beside) and her water bottle. Oh, and she has shoes on. But at least she isn't cuddled up with her doll stroller like she was one night last week.

Easter

We arranged a mini Easter egg hunt for Marlo last Sunday.  Here's our conversation before heading out to find the eggs...

Marlo- We're going to see the Easter bunny
Mommy- (Oops might have misled her on this one) Oh, I don't think the Easter Bunny is still here, I think Daddy saw the Easter Bunny leaving but he did hide eggs for you.
Marlo- We're going to find eggs! Eggs with baby birds in 'em!
Mommy- (So proud you know what eggs really are but...) No, these are Easter eggs, they have surprises in them.

Here's Marlo hunting eggs.  She spots this orange egg but approaches it tentatively.  The egg looks like a dinosaur head (see pic below).  She seems skeptical of the plastic eggs in general.

She was fine with the dino egg and the lack of baby birds as soon as she realized there was chocolate involved.

Bumbo

Louis is getting strong enough to sit in the bumbo!
