Peekaboo

Marlo discovered that her wide brim hat is just right for playing peekaboo. It's just been in the last few days that she will hide herself and play the game (as opposed to us holding something over her and moving it away).  Just today she did it with her bath towel, her blanket and, as shown in the video, her hat.

Scrunchy Nose

Marlo learned how to make a new face today.  You can catch it at about 0:17 of this video.
On this particular occasion it appears that she is using it to show distaste for her food but I don't really think it's an icky face.  She was doing it off and on all day and it doesn't seem to be related to anything, just a new skill she's practicing.  It is usually followed by a little smile and laugh.

Happy Half Birthday To Marlo!

I made her a little 1/2 birthday hat. She was very cooperative and actually wore it for a while.

We packed up a slice of avocado and went out to dinner at Galaxy Cafe to celebrate.

She was trying to look at her belly but when your head is too big for your neck you sometimes loose control a little.

Bath Splash

A bath is a full body workout for Marlo. Swim baby swim!

Day 3 of "solid" food and Marlo is getting a little better at eating. At least she doesn't gag anymore!

Blue hat

Marlo is about to grow out of her sun hat so I dug through the fabric bin and put together a new one. This one has a much wider brim- it's a bit out of scale for such a little person but it will be great in the sun.

More Cousins

If I have read this chart (from Wikipedia) correctly I believe they are Marlo's first cousins once removed.

I have never really understood how you "remove" a cousin. Or especially how you remove one twice.

Marlo ate her first real people food today. I can't say she was really enjoyed it but she did swallow almost everything I gave her so it seems to have been a success.

Silver spoon

Marlo is practicing her spoon skills with the silver spoon that Great Grandma McMullen gave her. She's watching us eat more intently and we are gearing up for the big adventure that is solid food.
