Christmas Pictures
Where's Marlo? |
Toys Toys Toys! |
Very curious about the tree. |
Marlo's been pulling this duck around since she opened it. |
Ready to ride! |
At the end of the day we still had a happy baby. I'm so glad we made it through our first Christmas with out a meltdown. |

New Tricks
Marlo can show you where her teeth are, give a high five and tell you what a monkey says.
So many useful talents.

Mealtime Entertainment
Marlo likes to listen to music during mealtime. Here she is singing and dancing at dinner yesterday
Marlo's new game is to hold her food over the floor and act like she's going to drop it. Sometimes she does drop it but most of the time she follows instructions and eats it. I'm sure soon enough she figure out that it's much more exciting to disobey. This video's pretty funny because she follows my instruction not to drop the peas off the edge of the chair and then decides to try dropping them down into her lap.

Just another day
This video demonstrates so many things that are happening with Marlo these days.
She is very mobile (and quick), she's expressing what she wants (and testing out what a cry will get her) and her pincer grasp is developing nicely (I think catching a small insect should be a new milestone).
I think it's pretty funny that if I tell her "yuck, don't put it in your mouth" she just turns so that she thinks I can't see her and gives it another try.
Disclaimer: Normally if have to take something away from Marlo and she cries I don't give it right back to her, I'm not that much of a push over, but I was conducting a little research in infant Marlo behavior.

go baby go!
Marlo has final figured out that her flailing legs need to have contact with the ground if she is going to propel her self forward. Here's a little clip of her frantic motion that will hopefully progress to a scoot or crawl. She's did fairly well until she was distracted by a piece of grass on the floor. We've been teaching her not to put the "yucks" she finds on the floor in her mouth. She's doing really well and almost always hands them to me instead of eating them.

Wind in my hair
I like the patterns the wind makes in Marlo's ultra fine hair. She didn't seem to mind.

Reading
It's really cute how much Marlo loves books. She will pick one of her favorite books and "read" for more than 15 or 20 minutes.
(This video is long- and not very action packed- I was just amazed at how long the book held her attention)
She really studies the pictures and likes to practice turning the pages.

TGIF
Marlo and I had a long day today.
Here she is at work.
It looks like she has the same attitude towards math as I do.
She fell asleep in the car while running our errands. I hung out in the car for 25 minutes in the Target parking lot because I could stand to wake her up.
Picture is upside down because I had to reach around the back seat to take it. (And I can't figure out how to edit it on my phone)
She rode in the shopping cart for the first time.
It was one of those "geez you are small" moments.

Swinger
We went on a nice walk on the Mueller trail yesterday. Afterwards we stopped by the playground so Marlo could swing in the baby swing.
Here's Marlo practicing some new modern dance moves in her Johnny Jump Up swing. Making her Mama proud.
The little hand gesture and spin at 22 seconds is so graceful and full of intent... the crash into the couch right after... not so much.

Finger Food
Marlo is practicing her fine motor skills by trying to pick up and eat little bits of banana. She's doing fairly well and when she can't get her little fingers to cooperate she comes up with another technique for getting the banana bit in her mouth. It might be cheating but we'll call it problem solving.
